FUNKYYY_FRESH
CREATOR & DEVELOPER

Hey, I'm FunkyFresh.

My path started behind a terminal as a former systems engineer and developer, but these days you'll find me building custom web tools and broadcasting live. On stream, I'm primarily grinding Rocket League mechanics on a keyboard and mouse setup, hosting bi-weekly community tournaments, and hanging out with the Funky Fam.

This platform serves as our central hub to connect live broadcasts, YouTube guides, short-form highlights, and community updates into one seamless circuit.

How I Got Here: My Streaming & Gaming Evolution

EXPLORE THE TIMELINE

2016// ORIGINS

From Xbox to Streaming

My streaming journey began in 2016 when I started broadcasting on Mixer for friends I played with on Xbox. When PUBG: Battlegrounds released, I made the jump to PC gaming and transitioned over to Twitch.

During those early days, my rotation was a mix of battle royale titles, Overwatch, and Rainbow Six Siege. Streaming was entirely casual—a fun way to hang out and game with friends.

2018// EXPLORATION

Finding Hunt: Showdown

A friend introduced me to Escape from Tarkov, and we played it together for about a month before hitting that classic wall and uninstalling it.

After that, I picked up Hunt: Showdown, along with a variety of party games like Fall Guys. Hunt quickly became my main game for a year and a half. Eventually, though, the limited map pool and repetitive loop made it lose its edge for me.

2020// EVOLUTION

Returning to Tarkov

While watching other creators stream Tarkov, I remembered I had actually bought the $150 edition years prior—even though I'd barely touched it.

The more I watched, the more hooked I got. Escape from Tarkov offered a depth unlike anything else I had played. I saw a real opportunity to anchor down on a single game, build out consistent content, and grow a community around it. Around 2020, Tarkov became the core focus of the channel.

2024// HIATUS

Burnout & Technical Challenges

The first six months focusing on Tarkov were a massive grind. Growth came slowly, and building an audience from scratch demanded immense patience and consistency.

I stuck with it until 2024, but the grind eventually led to severe burnout. Right around that same time, my 49-inch Samsung Odyssey monitor threw a wrench into my setup—running games natively at 5120x1440 crushed my frame rates. Between the burnout and hardware bottlenecks, I decided to step away from regular broadcasting.

2024// RENEWAL

Finding My Way Back

During my hiatus, I drifted back to Rocket League in 2024—a game I originally grabbed on Xbox back in 2016 or 2017.

I started learning Rocket League exclusively on a Keyboard and Mouse setup, and something clicked; I was genuinely having fun again. Meeting great people in other communities and seeing how welcoming the scene was made me ask myself: if not now, when?

2026// THE RETURN

March 5, 2026

Once I committed to coming back, I hit the ground running—rebuilding my OBS scenes, reorganizing my workflow, and running test streams on YouTube.

Then, on March 5, 2026, I officially went live on Twitch again. Stepping back into the spotlight after nearly three years was terrifying, but seeing original community founders and friendly faces show up to support the return meant everything to me.

PRESENT// FUNKY TOWN

The Community Today

Today, Rocket League serves as the primary anchor of the channel, backed by the tactical shooters that built my roots. I stream on a consistent weekly schedule and host bi-weekly community tournaments.

More than anything else, my goal is to cultivate a positive, welcoming space—a corner of the internet where people can kick back, vibe, and decompress from whatever life throws their way.
